A practical Hercules Sports reference for applying Lextra-style flock transfers to football shirts.
Check compatibility first: these reference settings are not verified for every badge we sell. Your patch supplier’s instructions and shirt’s heat limits take priority.
Settings at a Glance
| Equipment | Heat | Duration | Pressure | Peeling |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heat press | 150–160°C | 12–15 seconds | High; reference specifies 4–5 bar | Fully cold |
| Household iron | Approximately 150°C | 25 seconds | Firm downward pressure | Fully cold |
Using a Heat Press
- Cover the application area with a protective sheet and preheat for 3–5 seconds.
- Align the transfer with its flock against the fabric and carrier facing upwards.
- Cover and press using the reference settings above.
- Let everything reach room temperature, approximately 2–3 minutes. Peel back close to the fabric.
- Gently lift the flock fibres with your hand to restore texture.
Using an Iron
- Turn steam off and use a stable, heat-resistant surface. Warm the shirt area for 5 seconds.
- Position the transfer carrier-side up and protect it with baking parchment.
- Hold the iron stationary with firm downward pressure for 25 seconds.
- Wait about 5 minutes, until completely cold, before removing the carrier.
Patch Not Sticking Properly?
- Stop peeling if the patch lifts. Keep the transfer aligned and replace the protective sheet.
- Check for even, adequate pressure. Make sure seams or folds are not preventing contact. If pressure was too light, increase it only within the patch and equipment instructions.
- Try a short additional press only if permitted. If your patch supplier allows re-pressing, use the same approved temperature for an additional 5–10 seconds. Let this cold-peel flock transfer cool completely before checking again. Extra pressing time can also damage fabric or decoration; do not repeat indefinitely.
- Do not turn up the temperature to force adhesion. Excess heat can melt, scorch or distort the badge or jersey. A temperature change should only be considered with explicit supplier guidance and within the garment’s heat limits—not as a trial-and-error fix.
If the patch still will not bond, stop and contact Hercules Sports or a professional shirt-printing service before applying more heat.
Never peel this cold-peel flock transfer while warm: premature removal can disturb the fibres.
